Sunsets, reauthorization and a new waiver

Montana adopted expansion in 2015 with a June 2019 end date, reauthorized it in May 2019 with another sunset, and in March 2025 removed the June 2025 termination date. Coverage began January 1, 2016, and a trigger law would end it if the federal match drops.[KFF][KFF] The state is seeking a “HELP Demonstration” waiver that would add work requirements and premiums for expansion adults.[KFF]
