An estimate, not a decision
The calculator estimates whether household members are likely to meet a state’s Medicaid or CHIP income limits, using published standards and the information you enter. Only your state Medicaid agency can determine eligibility. It will consider facts the calculator does not — who belongs in your Medicaid household, all sources of income, immigration status, residency, assets for some groups, and, from 2027, work or community-engagement requirements for many adults. A “likely eligible” result is a reason to apply, not a guarantee; an “over the limit” result does not stop you from applying, and you should apply if you are unsure.
Not advice
Nothing on this site is legal, tax, financial or benefits advice. For help with an application or a denial, contact your state agency, a local legal aid office or a certified application counselor.
Accuracy
We take care to keep figures correct and dated, and we say on every page when they were verified. States change their limits and rules, sometimes without notice, and federal figures change every year. No affiliation
MedicaidCalc is independent. It is not run by, endorsed by or affiliated with the federal government, CMS, HealthCare.gov or any state Medicaid or CHIP program. Program names are used only to identify them.

You may use the calculator and link to any page. Please do not overload the site with automated requests, attempt to break its security, or submit false or abusive correction reports.
