Florida Medicaid Eligibility Calculator (2026)
Florida has not expanded Medicaid. A parent in a family of three loses Medicaid above $600 a month; adults without children have no full-Medicaid group at all. Children are covered far higher, up to $4,895 through Florida KidCare.

How DCF builds the parent limit
The Department of Children and Families publishes the limit as a 1992-era dollar standard plus a “standard disregard” — $486 a month for three in its April 2026 chart — before the 5% MAGI disregard is added. The same standard applies to 19- and 20-year-olds.[state]
Children 6 through 18 do not receive the standard disregard, only the 5% one; babies are covered in Medicaid to 206% of the poverty line and pregnant women to 191%.[state][MACPAC]
| Group | FPL | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 6 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Parents | table | $356 | $478 | $600 | $723 | $968 |
| Pregnancy | 196% | $2,607 | $3,535 | $4,463 | $5,390 | $7,246 |
| Under 1 | 211% | $2,807 | $3,806 | $4,804 | $5,803 | $7,800 |
| Ages 1–5 | 215% | $2,860 | $3,878 | $4,895 | $5,913 | $7,948 |
| Ages 6–18 | 215% | $2,860 | $3,878 | $4,895 | $5,913 | $7,948 |
Florida KidCare covers ages 1–18
Above Medicaid, KidCare’s separate CHIP covers children from age one through 18 up to 210% of the poverty line (215% with the disregard); infants stay in Medicaid.[MACPAC]
Postpartum through a waiver
Florida extended postpartum Medicaid to 12 months through a Section 1115 waiver rather than a state plan amendment.[KFF] For a mother who qualified during pregnancy at up to 196% of the poverty line, that year matters: after it ends she is measured against the far lower parent limit of $600 for three.[state]
Expansion fights in 2026
A ballot committee relaunched its campaign in February 2026 aiming for the 2028 ballot after a 2025 law tightened petition rules. In the 2026 session the Senate passed SB 1758, which would have imposed work requirements, after rejecting an amendment to block them until Florida expands; the bill died in the House.[KFF]
Older Floridians can qualify through MEDS-AD, the state’s poverty-level group at 88% of the poverty line, or a medically needy spend-down at about 14%.[MACPAC] Apply through MyACCESS Florida.
Worked example
A single father in Orlando with a 4-year-old and an 11-year-old earns $1,900 a month waiting tables. That is 83.5% of the poverty line for 3.
| Parent / caretaker | over by $1,300 | $600 |
| Child 1–5 | covered | $4,895 |
| Child 6–18 | covered | $4,895 |
