Postpartum
Minnesota’s postpartum extension was approved June 16, 2022.[KFF] With pregnancy covered to 278% of the poverty line, a household of three earning up to $6,443 a month qualifies during pregnancy and for the following year.[MACPAC]
Older adults
Minnesota is a 209(b) state, but for aged, blind and disabled people it disregards income between its medically needy limit and 100% of the poverty line, effectively making 100% the working limit.[MACPAC] Apply through MNsure or a county office.
Worked example
A 29-year-old line cook in Duluth with no children earns $2,300 a month. That is 172.9% of the poverty line for 1.
